As I got ready to hit "Publish Post", the title of this post made me laugh. Sounded like I'd just discovered my ethnicity or at the very least begun wearing shorts and winced at the ghastly state of my pale legs!
Nope, we're talking personality - the color code test. I've never taken the color test before, but as I started reading the book for this month's meeting, I knew I needed to find out so this book would make sense. We're reading the sequel to the "Color Code" called "Color Your Future".
I thought this was pretty interesting and it really did pin me on the nose with what I've come to find as some of my strengths and weaknesses. I'm now curious to have Ryan take it! You can take the 10 min test free online at www.thecolorcode.com. If you do take it, let me know!
Do you think this fits the Tracie you know? I'm very curious!
WHITES are motivated by PEACE. They seek independence and require kindness. They resist confrontation at all costs. To them, feeling good is more important than being good. They are typically quiet by nature, process things very deeply and objectively with great clarity. Of all the colors, WHITES are the best listeners. They respect people who are direct but recoil from perceived hostility or verbal battle.
WHITES need their "alone time" and refuse to be controlled by others. WHITES want to do things their own way and in their own time. They ask little of others and resent others demanding much of them. WHITES are much stronger than people think, but are not often seen for their strength because they don't easily reveal their feelings. WHITES are even-tempered, diplomatic, and the voice of reason; but can also be indecisive, unexpressive, and silently stubborn. When others interact with you, as a WHITE you respond to them best if they are kind, accepting and supporting of your individuality, and if they look for non-verbal clues to understand your feelings.

Poppin' Out & Tootin' My Horn
Yup - it's that time! In recent weeks I've lost a little weight while under the weather and as any gal knows, fitting into your skinny pants is a big deal! I had reveled in it for a couple weeks now til Wednesday. The prego belly popped out Wednesday and I mean popped! I find it so amazing how suddenly it happens! I tried in vain to wear regular pants until today when I broke out the prego pants and what a relief!
It was brought to my attention, however, that I haven't really had to be big pregnant through a summer yet. Easton was born in late December and McKay in April. I think I've been in a bit of denial about this pregnancy being real til now. Some shopping may have to be in order!
Speaking of shopping, Easton has also outgrown all his summer clothes. A couple weeks ago I totally scored! I'm not a patient, consistent shopper. I try to stay away from shopping to avoid the temptation to spend money and stay on the budget. I wish I could say I was a dutiful yard sale officianado, but I avoid them too usually for the same reason - too much precious junk for a deal. But I thought I'd give it one good try to get Easton some summer clothes. Yup, just one try - there's my lack of patience for ya.
I set out one Saturday morning and hit a community yard sale and struck out or so I thought! I stopped at a friend's house who regularly holds yard sales. While there, another yard saler overheard me say what I was up to. She told me of a couple good ones to hit and it was the jackpot! I believe I found 10 outfits and a few spare parts for $25! It was FABULOUS! This lady with one son had shirts 4/$1 and shorts 2/$1 and they were in good shape, some even new and unworn! All I can say is prayers are answered for real, even on what seems like trivial little things.
I shouldn't say it that way. I know that as I typed it just now. In reality, it was a big deal to me. Our family had a need. I'd had the thought in my prayers, yet not as earnestly as I probably should and could have. I know my Father in Heaven hears and answers prayers, knows my needs and inner pleadings even when unspoken. And this time, over a small seemingly insignificant thing, He chose to show me again that this is true. It's one of the truest things I know. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost reminding me now of how I felt as I drove home that morning with evidence of an answered prayer.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game
Ryan loves following the Boston Red Sox baseball team, especially seeing a live game! He got his chance this week and had me in tow. The Red Soxs played the Baltimore Orioles this past week and there was a good chance Manny Ramirez could hit his 500th home run - or at least Ryan thought so when he got some last minute tickets.
It was a fun game to see even though the Red Soxs lost and Manny didn't get the 500. Our seats were front row behind the left outfield - which is Manny Ramirez's position. He's known for his batting and "Manny being Manny" silly antics now and again, but not his defense. So it was quite a fun surprise to see him snag an amazing catch, finish stride by hopping up the wall to high five a fan, land and throw in field to complete a double play! The play made all the news clips of baseball game coverage that night. So did the O's Payton's grand slam. The Sox never recovered.
The best part of watching post game coverage that night at home was the clips of Manny watching his double play replayed on monitors in the dug out. He was like a high school kid yuckin' it up with all his buddies! Boys will be boys!
Going to the game with Ryan let me enjoy my man being a boy too - something I truly enjoy. Ryan was giddy like a school boy with a big grin as we walked into the park, he downed that ballpark food in a flash, and just loved seeing his team up close! I was so glad we brought a walkman so I could listen to the game commentators for a bit since I'm not up on my baseball trivia or the players. It made the game a lot more interesting to me and I can say I actually do enjoy the game now! We'll see if it ever translates to having our boys play - hard to compete with the economy and game activity of soccer, my native sport.
Next week we'll head to the new National's state of the art stadium - too bad they're still in the painful "building" phase of their team game!

Without Further Ado . . .
This past month our ward had a low key talent show. Ryan and a couple friends graciously shared a water ballet routine with the awe-struck crowd. Click here for the link. Another favorite of the evening was the infamous 80's dance remix group FabOlicious. Enjoy it here!
Ryan never ceases to make me laugh which is why I love him so much!
